Obama/Biden Yard Signs Are In!

Take a look at what we have now. Obama/Biden yard signs.

Come on in and get yours now. They are $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00. Hurry so we can raise more cash for more.

And as always we have campaign buttons, bumper stickers, wrist bands, caps and T-shirts. We also have the "Had Enough" yard signs that made such a big hit with the Republicans in '06.

Fort Bend Democrats Headquarters Are Open

We packed everything up and taped the windows in preparation for Hurricane Ike. We hunkered down like everyone else. Ike blew through and both of our headquarters were spared any major damage.

Now we are happy to report that both headquarters, the west side headquarters in Rosenberg, and the east side headquarters in Stafford, are now fully functional with AC, Wi-Fi , and cable TV. And we are fired up and ready to go.

So come on in and visit with us. Visit with your Democratic neighbors, relax on our sofas, and bring your Wi-Fi capable laptops to access the internets. We are the Fort Bend Democrats, helping to turn Fort Bend County and all of Texas Democratic Blue.

Melissa Noriega on the Importance of Voting a Straight Democratic Ticket

Albert Hollan's Remarks Read at the Labor Day Event

[Albert Hollan couldn't attend the our Labor Day Fundraiser last weekend but he did write down some remarks that were read to the assembly. Albert, you know, underwrote the entire thing. His generosity is a model to us all]

Welcome to Sugar Land, and welcome to my neighborhood.  My family and I have lived just around the corner for the past 20 years.

Judge Susan Criss Speaks at the Fort Bend Democrats' Labor Day Fundraiser

Well Hurricane Gustav did little to rain on our parade this past August 31st as the Fort Bend Democrats launched the campaign season with a Labor Day barbecue and fundraiser at the Sugar Land Community Center. Some may have been turned away by the weatherman, some may have had plans for the long weekend, but this did not prevent us from having a very $ucce$$ful event.

Exxon John - The DNC Rips Off John Cornyn's Video

How many times can we rip off Jimmy Dean's "Big Bad John?"

The campaign of Texas Junior Senator John Cornyn hired a videography company to come up with an introductory video at the Republican Party of Texas' state convention this summer. They came up with a real gem that has resulted in we of the Democratic Party having to hold in our sides with laughter and mirth.

We Register Voters

Not to brag, but Fort Bend Democrats are going to be a formidable force this year. Not only will we be doubling our presence in Fort Bend County, but now we have had our first political action, and it was hugely successful:

We registered 45 voters yesterday.

Just think of it. All we have to do is approach potential Democratic voters in underperforming precincts by knocking on their doors, register a few score of them, and flip that precinct from Red to Blue.

Rosenberg Headquarters Rising

OK, it's not elegant. The flooring, when there is some, is pseudoparquet and some indoor/outdoor carpet that might be blue. At first I called it a "dump" but I was told under no uncertain terms that I was issuing negative energy on that remark, so let's just call it our "Democrat Shack." That works, too.

The dirt is lifted from the floor and it's now ready to receive our campaign stuff from storage.

Watch as we transform from Crisis to Chrysalis.

FISA Debate Delayed Until after the 4th

The Senate will take up the FISA "Compromise" Bill after, as Senator Russ Feingold puts it, Senators have the time to celebrate our Constitution and the rights it gives us over the 4th of July weekend, and then reconvene.

John McCain's Temper Makes Him Unfit to be President

I don't care who you have given your support to in the Democratic race for the presidential nomination (I was an Edwards man), we all should be able to agree on one thing: John McCain should never be anything but an occasional visitor to the White House Oval Office.

Never.
