Pictures from the Gumbo Gala

By Juanita - Posted on 18 May 2009

The First Annual Fort Bend Democrats Club Gumbo Gala was a complete success in raising money for local Democratic efforts in Fort Bend.
Fort Bend Democrats Club Gumbo Gala      We owe a special thanks to The Ragin Cajun, Mark Wallis of The Palm Tree Group, and (pictured at left) Commissioner Grady Prestage, Commissioner Richard Morrison and Constable Ruben Davis for all their support and help.  We also want to thank Congressman Al Green for his support in coming to the event to help out and fire up local Democrats.

Pictures are here. We'll be adding more as they come in so check back several times this week.
We were honored by the presence of two State Democratic Executive Committeemen:  Don Bankston from SD17 and Alan Blakley from SD 17.  Three County Chairs were present:  Lloyd Criss from Galveston County, Harold Huff from Austin County and Sue Funkhouser from Brazosria County.  And Judge Susan Criss from Galveston County was also there.

We'd also like to give a special thanks to Wanda Harris for her donation of a gorgeous painting of the Kennedy brothers.

The silent auction was a successful effort with folks bidding wildly during the last 15 minutes to win their Democratic items.

Commissioner Morrison did the live auction with hot competition for Harris' painting and Obama totes filled with goodies.

The pictures are great! The dinner was delicious, and the folks there were fantastic! It was a very successful night.
