Country Club Andy

By Juanita - Posted on 16 December 2007

As most of you know, we held a vote count at The World’s Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc. and named County Commissioner Andy Meyers the Greediest Man Alive.

Okay, so there was some decent. It was not unanimous. Thelma, who has been at several parties with Andy, says the ‘alive” part cannot be proven empirically by Andy’s socialization skills. So, she voted to send it to committee to clarify the meaning of “alive.”

We all got to thinking the other day: it’s illegal for Congressvarmints to pay their country club bills from their campaign accounts but county commissioners are allowed to do so. According to 2 U.S.C. 439a(b)(2)(D) of the Election Code ---

G) Dues, fees or gratuities at a country club, health club, recreational facility or other nonpolitical organization, unless they are part of the costs of a specific fundraising event that takes place on the organization's premises;

But, Andy paid his dues at Sugar Creek Country Club with legalized kickbacks from county vendors and developers. You can see his latest campaign report right here in a PDF file.

Yes, it’s legal. But chasing interns around the desk in the Oval Office is also legal, but I don’t think folks should do that either. Andy quit having ethics about the same time he discovered that nobody – literally nobody – checks the campaign finance reporting.

It’s also interesting to note that Andy fired his campaign treasurer, the ultra rightwing Super DeLux Brand Christian Teresa Raia, and replaced her with his son. That doesn’t seem right either. His son doesn’t even bother to vote most of the time. However, since he’s grown, at least in age, Andy can pay him to be the campaign treasurer.

I’m not saying that Andy would steal the gold out of a widow woman’s teeth or that he ties damsels to railroad tracks and charges a watching-fee, but …. no, wait. That’s exactly what I’m saying.

He’s the greediest man dead or alive.
