Bush visits Oklahoma, collects paycheck

Where will the former President of the United States spend his first 4th of July after leaving office? Woodward, Oklahoma.

But this isn’t a reward for loyal Oklahoma Republicans who still stand by “W”. It is a paid gig.

Located about a 2 ½ hour drive northwest of Oklahoma City, Woodward will pay George W. Bush to come speak at their Independence Day celebration. No one will say how much the former President will be paid, but here is the mayor of Woodward standing by the road with a cup.

Last year, Mr. Bush said that his post-election plan was to “fill the coffers”. I just don’t think he thought he would have to do that in the middle of rural Oklahoma.
