On Wednesday, April 6, 2011, the Texas League of Young Voters Education Fund and members from over 40 organizations and concerned individuals from all over our State will gathered at the Texas State Capitol for a March, Rally and Lobby Day.

United under the "Save our State" mobilization and the Texas Forward Coalition, the organizations are calling on the Texas Legislature to show real leadership by adopting a balanced approach to the state budget. A balanced approach means canceling plans for devastating budget cuts in education; unfair pieces of Voter ID and targeted immigration legislation and fair redistricting for fair representation.

But we will. Dunbar should resign and leave the governing of this state's public schools to people who use them, serve them, care about them and understand that they are the future of Texas."

The Austin American-Statesman (Monday, December 15, 2008), in an editorial calling on far-right member Cynthia Dunbar, R-Richmond, to resign from the State Board of Education.
