Harris County Deputy Sheriff Sergeant Michael Ellison Publicly Announces His Candidacy for the Fort Bend County Sheriff

Richmond, Fort Bend County, Texas December 14, 2011 - In the spirit of Walter Moses Burton, the first Black elected Sheriff in west United States and Fort Bend County in 1869; Harris County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Michael Ellison plans to publicly announce his candidacy for the March 2012 Democratic Primary as a candidate for Fort Bend County Sheriff in the March Democratic Primary election.

If elected, Michael Ellison will be the second African-American elected as Sheriff in Fort Bend County. This will again be a historic election.
