'Cranks and crazies' have taken over US Republicans

Australia's deputy prime minister and treasurer, Wayne Swan, says in a speech on Friday that 'the biggest threat to the world's biggest economy are the cranks and crazies that have taken over a part of the Republican party'. Swan also labels the Tea Party wing of the Republicans as 'extreme'
