First stop on the Women are Watching bus tour: Concord, New Hampshire. Joined by Senator Jeanne Shaheen and women's health activist Sandra Fluke, hundreds gathered outside the State House in New Hampshire to protect and promote women's health.

Missouri Congressman and Senate candidate Rep. Todd Akin has always been out of touch when it comes to women's health issues, but he went too far when he claimed that women who are the victims of "legitimate rape" don't get pregnant. There is no doubt about it: Rep. Todd Akin is wrong for women.

Dear Democrat,

Mitt Romney and other Republican leaders calling for Todd Akin to resign his campaign need to take in more territory starting with Romney’s VP candidate and including newly minted right wing darling Ted Cruz. The only distinction between Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan and Todd Akin is that Akin put down the dog whistle and stated the policy out loud. Akin’s disgusting rhetoric matches the policies of the Republican Party.

"Just like Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan would get rid of Planned Parenthood funding."

"In Congress, Ryan voted to ban all federal funding for Planned Parenthood..."

"...and allow employers to deny women access to cancer screenings and birth control."

DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz recorded a message to the Women's Leadership Forum, speaking out against the Republicans' dangerous "Protect Life" Act.

47 years ago the Supreme Court decided that states didn't have the right to ban birth control. But for some reason, nearly 50 years later, some politicians actually think government SHOULD have a role in saying who can and can't use birth control. Mitt Romney is one of these politicians.
