Obama Victory Party
We will be having the Official Fort Bend County Obama Victory Party Tuesday, November 4th at both headquarters. Everyone is invited!
The fun starts at 3 o'clock and runs till 11pm. We will have great food, music, and a big screen television to watch the election returns.
We are asking all partygoers to bring a sidedish/dessert to the event. This will be the mother of all parties and we want you to be with us on this very special night.
Barack Obama: Closing Argument (Full Speech)
Canton Memorial Civic Center, Canton, Ohio
1:17 P.M. EDT, Monday, OCTOBER 27, 2008
One week. One week.
After decades of broken politics in Washington, eight years of failed policies from George Bush and twenty-one months of a campaign that has taken us from the rocky coast of Maine to the sunshine of California and everywhere in between, we are one week away from changing America.
In one week, you can turn the page on policies that have put greed and irresponsibility of Wall Street before the hard work and sacrifice of folks right here in Canton, folks right on Main Street.
In one week, you can choose. You can choose policies that invest in our middle-class and create new jobs and grow this economy from the bottom-up, so that everyone has a chance to succeed, from the CEO to the secretary and the janitor, from the factory owner to the men and women on the factory floor. In one week.
In one week, you can put an end to the politics that would divide a nation, just to win an election; that tries to pit region against region and city against town, Republican against Democrat; that asks us to fear at a time when we need hope. In one week, at this defining moment in history, you can give this country the change we need. You can do that.
We Have Talent!
Oh yes, we have talent!

GO OBAMA!
Convention Night at the Headquarters
Okay, I admit it. I spent more time watching the tv than taking pictures.
We munched on hot dogs and apple pie at both Fort Bend Democrats headquarters while watching Obama make the greatest convention speech in history.
You can find more pictures here of the early crowd. Sorry I didn't take many once everyone got there. I'll try harder next time! Blockwalking starts tomorrow and our Kickoff event is on Sunday Afternoon. It's a great time to be a Democrat!
Kathy's Second Day at the Convention!
Kathy Solanti's second day report ---
Convention Report from Kathy Soltani
We got the following report from Fort Bend Democrats member and national delegate, Kathy Soltani --
Dear Friends,
I don't think I would do the way I felt yesterday any justice if I were to put it into words. So, I just suffice by saying I had the time of my life. And the best is yet to come!
It is unbelievable how organized and well planned everything is. The speakers are great and there is not even one boring second here. Every time you look around you see a famous reporter or politician go by. The highlight of the evening for me with no doubt was Ted Kennedy. The speech, his powerful presence; and in a way I could feel his two brothers standing next to him. What a moment in history and I was there to take all in LIVE!
East Headquarters Grand Opening!
We've got the pictures ---
Click right here to see other pictures from the Grand Opening. We'll be adding more this week and if you have any, please send them to us and we'll post them here, too.
It was a very successful night with great speeches from Leslie Taylor, Richard Morrison, Albert Hollan, Chris Bell, and a stem-winder from Congressman Al Green.
A special thanks to Skip and Judy Belt for their generous donations to make all this possible, and to National Delegate Kathy Soltani and Obama Fort Bend for the decorations and hospitality.
